Dec. 2007: What will next season be like?: Altimetry is helping seasonal forecast by providing information on the ocean dynamics.
Nov. 2007: The ocean is going up and down around the Solomon Islands: Regions of highest dynamic topography variability are in general regions of highest turbulence. Some few regions also vary a lot, without our precise understanding of the physical origin of such high variability. This is the case in the Solomon Sea.
Oct. 2007: South Atlantic Anomaly as seen by Doris: The South Atlantic Anomaly takes place in the ionosphere, at the magnetic equator. This "anomaly" causes among other things errors on the measurement of the Doris instrument onboard Jason-1.
Sep. 2007: Altimetry on eddies' tracks: Analysis of Sea Level Anomalies from merged satellite data, now available for more than ten years, reveals the areas of high eddy activity, the number of eddies during those years, their size and height.
Aug. 2007: Altimetric views of a typhoon: Altimetry can be used for cyclone observation, knowledge and forecasting in a number of different ways. Example is given in the case of the Man-Yi typhoon (July 2007)
Jul. 2007: Cruising speed measurements: In situ measurements especially made during cruises, complete and validate altimetry measurements
Jun. 2007: Water flowing under the ice: Sub-glacial hydrological networks linking the lakes beneath ice in Antarctica between each other appear in altimetry data
May 2007: Turns of the seasons in the Ocean: The ocean is responding to the seasons, as the atmosphere. Altimetry measured sea surface heights reflects this.

Mar. 2007: Malaria and altimetry in the Amazon: Malaria outbursts are linked to flooded areas. Altimetry continuous monitoring of such areas can be used in epidemiological modelling
Feb. 2007: Ierapetra gyre pops in and out: The Ierapetra gyre is a Mediterranean oceanic feature. Since 1993, this gyre appeared -- or not -- depending on the periods.
Jan. 2007: El Niño on time for Christmas: This year El Niño, true to its name (El Niño, i.e., the (Christ) child in Spanish), showed up for Christmas.
