Two specific indicators have been developed and released on the Aviso website. They are based on altimeter data, in order to monitor the ocean state: for the Ionian Sea and for the Kuroshio Extension.

Two specific indicators have been developed and released on the Aviso website. They are based on altimeter data, in order to monitor the ocean state.

The first ocean indicator checks the contracted or extended state of the Kuroshio Extension.

The second one is dedicated to the Ionian Sea in the Mediterranean Sea and permits to separate "zonal-cyclonic" state from the "anticyclonic" state.
