[Jason-1] Jason-1 data back in SSALTO/Duacs NRT products (new version 13.0)
Category: Operational news
Jason-1 is now on its new geodetic orbit and data have been integrated to the SSALTO/Duacs system
As mentionned in the previous news (see last operational news), Jason-1 is now on its new geodetic orbit and data have been integrated to the SSALTO/Duacs system. A new release of DUACS (version 13.0) was installed and activated on the production servers on May 25th 2012. Additionally, Envisat has stopped sending data since April 8th and ESA has declared officially the end of the mission (see operational news). Therefore, these events lead to:
For along-track products:
- A dissemination of Jason-1 along-track data for its geodetic orbit with a change in the nomenclature: all the files and directories related to along-track products are named "j1g". At this time, all the available data have been produced, but gaps remain in the time series. For the future production, the re-processed data within 20 days will be integrated in the system.
- Jason-1 along-track files for its repeat orbit are available until March 3rd, 2012.
- For the Jason-1 geodetic orbit, no mean profile can be used. The CNES_CLS11 Mean Sea Surface is used instead
For gridded products:
- Concerning gridded products, the Jason-1 data since May 7th are taken into account in the computation of the maps, allowing a higher quality of the products integrating three satellites. The impact is to better map the areas of strong oceanographic variability compared to maps generated with Cryosat-2+Jason-2.
