Jason-3

Jason-3 will ensure continuity with Jason-2 and with a  launch date in 2015, it should  allow at least a 6-month overlap with Jason-2.

At this date, all agreements have been signed. Funding commitments have been obtained and partnership as for Jason-2, but the operational agencies (Noaa and Eumetsat) take the lead; Cnes serves as the system coordinator and all partners -including Nasa- support science team activities.

The orbit is the traditional T/P-Jason orbit -non-sun-synchronous, 1336 km, 66° inclination on a Proteus platform.
