			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>The European Space Agency is organising its <b>Third CryoSat User Workshop</b>, which will be hosted from <b>12 to 14 March 2013 at Dresden University in Germany</b>. The workshop is open to all scientists and users with an interest in the CryoSat mission and its data products. 
The working language of the workshop is English. &nbsp;No participation fee will be charged. Participants are expected to finance their own travel and accommodation expenses. &nbsp;<br />The workshop is organised around oral and poster presentations selected by the Scientific Committee. Sessions will be arranged around dedicated topics related to the workshop objectives. &nbsp;Presenters of both oral and poster presentations are required to submit extended abstracts. Proceedings will be published by ESA in the SP series. &nbsp;

			<description>Michel Lefebvre became a Knight of the Legion of Honour, one of the highest distinctions in France.</description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Michel Lefebvre&nbsp;was first&nbsp;a merchant sailor, Navy captain, and astronomer, before going the Cnes to lead their Space Geodesy group. He was instrumental in designing the Doris positioning system, and in developing the Poseidon altimeter, which were launched on the Topex/Poseidon mission in 1992. <br />In the 1990s, Michel Lefebvre&nbsp;worked on a large number of international projects, and helped initiate the European operational oceanography project Mercator, and worked to set up the global GODAE programme.
